The saga of horror is over; Netflix has labeled one of the most horrifying experiences as a sci-fi. Rebel Moon has given trauma to a massive group of people. It has definitely been one of Netflix’s biggest failures, and Part Two was nowhere better than Part One.
Talking about the ratings of both parts, Part One: A Child of Fire has a 5.6 on IMDb, and Part Two: The Scargiver has a 6.6 on IMDb, which is definitely an improvement. However, it is far from the reality when it comes to the statistics.
Rebel Moon Part One, though facing major backlash in terms of quality and viewing experience, also had a good advertisement strategy. But Part Two didn’t have much luck, as mostly it relied on interviews and posts.
For Part One, Snyder optimized the Comic-Con event to make a trailer out of the Rebel Moon theme, which garnered mainstream attention in a positive light. However, Part Two carried the baggage of Part One’s failure.
And this is affecting the viewership of the second part.
Part One started with a viewership of 23.9 million views, but Part Two saw a major dip, opening with 21.4 million views, indicating that fans are losing hope. And this is with astronomical hype and a PG-13 rating.
We have to wait to see if the R-Rated cut, though it might not come anywhere close to the viewership, can at least bring Rebel Moon to a point of glory. Netflix needs to advertise it properly and work on it properly.
