Hoichoi’s second instalment of the shakespearean saga after , “Mandaar” is the much awaited series “Talmar Romeo Juliet”, keeping the broad spectrum of Shakespeare’s tale and adding a touch of colours and a village set up is what makes it different.
Although, if you are watching the series keeping the tragedy of Romeo Juliet in mind then, it can be a little bit off putting.
But if you keep Shakespeare aside and watch it from the point of view of Arpan Garai then we must say that this series did a fantastic job.
Anirban, who has been a pivotal part of recent Shakepeare’s screen adaptations in Bangla, leaves his undeniable mark.
“Talmar Romeo Juliet” is undoubtedly the most significant work done by him, not only by his acting but also with his creative imagination.
Our Romeo and Juliet, Debdutta, and Hiya are pretty and convincing. Being newcomers in the industry it was a huge opportunity for them.
Now if we come to “Talmar Romeo Juliet” it digresses from Shakespeare so much that the non Shakespearean characters seem worthy.
So, the question arises, did Talmar Romeo Juliet do justice to the storyline ?
The answer is a blatant No, but the series itself is a very entertaining one and worth giving a watch so if you haven’t watched “Talmar Romeo Juliet” yet, give it a watch, it is streaming from today only on Hoichoi.
