Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital rights for Malayalam movie ‘Christopher’. The film had its theatrical release only today and it will be having its OTT premiere after some time.
The film is written by Udaykrishna and directed by B. Unnikrishnan. ‘Christopher’ stars superstar Mammootty in the lead role and has other actors like Vinay Rai, R. Sarath Kumar, Sneha, Amala Paul, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Thanseel P. S, Aditi Ravi and Shine Tom Chacko in important roles. The cinematography of the film is handled by Faiz Siddik and the editing is done by editor Manoj. Composer Justin Varghese has given the music for the film.
The film is getting mixed reviews and many people went to watch the film on the very first day of its release because it has such a big star like Mammootty in it. Udaykrishna’s recent filmography is not very appreciated now and it is difficult to attract audiences in his name. People will go to watch the film only for Mammootty, if not for anything else. But many audiences are complaining that his acting too is a bit rushed in the film.
The film is based on a true story about a police officer who turns into a vigilante to fight crime. Christopher, the protagonist, is forced to break the limits of law, which he intended to protect as a law-abiding citizen and police officer. He turns into a fighter beyond the claws of law in order to protect it.
It is an investigative thriller and though the premise is somewhat cliché, there are many twists and turns in the story. The Malayalam film industry never fails to satisfy the audiences, hopefully Christopher too will do well in the box office.
