Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has joined the cast of Border 2. Varun Dhawan will also be in the Sunny Deol-led movie. Sunny Deol posted a video welcoming Diljit Dosanjh stating, “Welcoming Fauji @diljitdosanjh to the Battalion of #Border2”.
Diljit shared the same with the description, “Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum (The first bullet will be fired by the enemies and the last by us)! Honored to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers!”.
Earlier this month, Border 2 welcomed actor Varun Dhawan. Anurag Singh is slated to direct the movie. JP Dutta directed the first movie, which grossed a lot of money at the box office in 1997. Now, he is producing it with JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. Sunny released a video message on Instagram recently, commemorating 27 years of the cult hit Border.
Anurag Singh, the director of Kesari, Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet, and Dil Bole Hadippa! among others, will oversee Border 2. June 13, 2024, the day ‘Border’ turned 27, was the announcement date for the movie. The creators have proclaimed it “India’s biggest war film”.
The plot is supposedly set in the same location—the Battle of Longewala—and filming is scheduled to begin in October of this year. The movie will have a wide release on January 23, 2026. The 1971 India-Pakistan War is the backdrop for the 1997 film Border. In the patriotic film, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna were among the leading actors.
