Diljit Dosanjh’s Caught Up In Deadly Riot In Netflix’s ’Jogi’

Netflix has dropped the teaser of its upcoming film ‘Jogi’ and it’s one soul-stirring feature drama. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Jogi’ is all set to release only on Netflix on 16th September, 2022.

The newly launched ‘Jogi’ teaser is set New Delhi on 31st October, 1984 in the aftermath of the then Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi’s assassination by her Sikh bodyguards. This led to rise in tension in the city leading to riots and torturing and killing of many from the Sikh community.

Jogi’ teaser shows how a Sikh man played by Diljit Dosanjh is peacefully living and enjoying his life with his family until the day everything turns upside down and he and his people are forced to leave the city and move to Punjab. But he isn’t the one to backdown or abandon anyone and thus decides to stay there and face it all.

Set amid the tensions in 1980s India, ‘Jogi’ is follows three friends of different faiths who unite in a noble yet dangerous effort to save hundreds in their town. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar who has co-written it with Sukhmani Sadana.

‘Jog’ is a heartwarming drama starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani, Amyra Dastur, Paresh Pahuja, Neelu Kohli, Mikhail Yawalkar, Saurabh Chauhan and Sadanand Patil among others. ‘Jogi’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 16th September, 2022.
