Tim Allen has confirmed that he and Tom Hanks have been approached by Disney for another film in the ‘Toy Story’ franchise. Previously Bob Iger had teased the probability of a new Toy Story movie but it was not clear whether it would be a spin-off or a regular continuation. ‘Buzz Lightyear’ was a spin-off of the Toy Story franchise that came out last year. ‘Toy Story’ has a huge fan base all over the world and since its premiere in 1995 and with all the later parts that came along in 1999, 2010, 2019, the franchise has become one of the most successful animated film series of all time.
In the movies, Tim Allen voices the role of Buzz Lightyear and Tom Hanks voices Woody. In ‘Lightyear’ however, Buzz was voiced by Chris Evans. In a recent interview, the actor has said, “Bob Iger, head of Disney, said it was on and actually said it was going to happen. They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles. They’re not saying anything about it…You wonder if four was too many. Is five going to be too much?” With Tim and Tom coming back, the other actors like Keanu Reeves, Michael Keaton might also return to reprise their roles.
The last Toy Story film made a huge record at the box office. Toy Story 5 might help Pixar revive the old glory of their animation after these dull years. A creator from the original movies is reportedly writing the script of the movie. This is, indeed, a big news for all fans of Toy Story.
