The Walt Disney company is in the midst of a major churn – not in terms of the number of its manpower, but in terms of the power the designation that is undergoing churn holds.
News filtering in says that Walt Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger has stepped down from the significant position, and in his place, another Disney veteran Bob Chapek has been made CEO.
As per an official statement from the company, Bob Iger, who was Disney CEO for 15 long years, will occupy the role of executive chairman and guide the creative endeavors of the company. Iger’s contract with the company stands for 2 more years.
The idea behind Iger stepping down from the CEO position two years early is to allow Iger to concentrate on developing exclusive and quality Disney content, and let Chapek handle the sundry other daily operations of Disney Entertainment.
Bob Chapek is, however, by no means a pushover. He has handled important positions in the Disney company for the last 27 years, and is an experienced and expert hand.
