Disney Plus Hotstar dropped the first teaser of ‘Special Ops 1.5’ this morning, much to the delight of fans of its parent show, ‘Special Ops’. It also announced that the next chapter of Special Ops is arriving very soon on its platform. The short 1-minute teaser takes viewers back in time to when primary protagonist Himmat Singh was just starting out in the Indian intelligence agency.
Kay Kay Menon, who played the primary protagonist, RAW agent Himmat Singh in Special Ops Season 1, returns to reprise his role in ‘Special Ops 1.5’. As he says in the teaser, the new season will recount how the rookie Himmat Singh became the Himmat Singh of today. The teaser shows Himmat Singh carrying out dare-devil acts of courage and bravery. It also gives us glimpses of new entrants to the cast, Aftab Shivdasani and Adil Khan. From the old cast, only Vinay Pathak will return for the sequel, besides Kay Kay Menon of course.
Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey returns to direct this edition of the intriguing spy thriller saga. He is also a producer for the Special Ops series under his Friday Storytellers production house banner. Special Ops was an unqualified hit when it premiered on Disney Plus Hotstar in March of last year. Fans have been clamouring for its sequence since like forever. This news is sure to gladden their hearts.
