Hard to believe, but it’s July already, and we’re already at the half-yearly mark in 2023. Six months have gone by in a blink — no telling where. Sheesh, time is going too fast, and pretty soon, 2024 will be upon us.

Now that the departure of HBO and IPL from Disney Plus Hotstar is done and dusted, the streaming giant is well on the road to recovery. Disney Plus Hotstar premiered four Indian Original series in June, the most by any multi-lingual Indian OTT platform. It also streamed a buzzy Indian film on its platform this month.
But what turned the tide for Disney Plus Hotstar in terms of number of subscribers tuning in to the platform was the ICC World Test Championship match between India and Australia that was exclusively live-streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar in India.
A couple of well-received Hindi language shows on Disney Plus Hotstar have worked wonders for the streaming health of the platform. Added to that, the ICC World Test Championship, and streaming rights for a much-anticipated film have helped Disney Plus Hotstar rake up a good score overall in the month of June.
Indian Original Web Series –
Three out of four Indian Original series on Disney Plus Hotstar hit their mark, as far as audience appreciation goes.
