Disney+ Hotstar has launched a singularly unique dance reality show called ‘Home Dancer’, which offers viewers to participate in a first-of-its-kind dance competition from the comfort of their homes. The streaming platform has roped in Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez as the brand ambassador for the show. Actor Karan Wahi will be the host. The unique thing about the show is that it is the first reality show to be entirely shot and compiled remotely.
The extended lockdown can be credited with the innovativeness of the Disney+ Hotstar presentation, when people are locked in and content must be made according to the prevailing conditions.
All that the contestants have to do to participate is upload videos of their dance on the Disney+ Hotstar App or website. Every contestant must have a Disney+ Hotstar account. The ten episode show will have one theme every week, and a choice of 15 pre-loaded dance tracks. Participants can choose their preferred track and submit their dance videos, each of which must be of 60-90 seconds length. The great thing about the competition is that participants can send multiple entries. The show gives homebound viewers a bright chance to become famous like none other.
Ten shortlisted videos will be showcased in every episode. The results will be decided on the basis of audience voting. Prize money worth Rs 4 lakh is up for grabs each week.
