Disney+ Hotstar’s science fiction comedy-drama ‘OK Computer’ is all set to make its European debut in the reputed International Film Festival Rotterdam’s (IIFR) Bright Future category.

As per the official website of the film festival, the limited period, on-demand online screening for the web series will be available for a period of 72 hours from Saturday, June 5, 2021, 12:00 to Tuesday, June 8, 2021, till 12:00. The series can ostensibly be watched by local festival audiences with English subtitles.

Besides online viewing, ‘OK Computer’ would also be available for physical screening on two separate dates. On Friday, June 4, 2021, the series will reportedly be screened from 17:45 to 22:12. While on Sunday, June 6, 2021, the series would be screened twice from 09:45 to 14:12 and from 16:30 to 20:37.

Regarding the inclusion of Disney+ Hotstar show ‘OK Computer’ at IIFR, festival programmer Stefan Borsos had previously said that although he was somewhat disappointed looking at the first, very Blade Runner-ish images, things completely changed during the first sequence at the scene of the crime. He further associated ‘OK Computer’ as being original and wonderful. He also thanked the show’s makers for their feature debut, which deservedly found its way into the festival’s Bright Future section.

Directed by Pooja Shetty and Neil Pagedar and co-produced by Anand Gandhi (Director – ‘Ship of Theseus’ and IFFR festival alumni), ‘OK Computer’ is a six-part series which is set ten years into the future. In a world where artificial intelligence and robots are commonplace, a self-driving car is hacked to execute a murder. Consequently, a cyber cop and a robot rights activist (played by Vijay Varma and Radhika Apte respectively) team up to investigate the murder case.

Besides Vijay Varma and Radhika Apte, the series also features Jackie Shroff, Rasika Duggal, and Kani Kusruti. All six episodes (roughly 40 minutes each) of the series started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar platform from March 26, 2021, onwards.
