Disney+ Hotstar has just dropped the first looks of its new show, a supernatural drama titled ‘Dahan’. The series stars actors Tisca Chopra, Saurabh Shukla and Rajesh Tailang in the lead roles. Ankur Nayyar, Rohan Joshi, Mukesh Tiwari, among others, make up the rest of the cast.
The first looks from ‘Dahan’ feature Tisca Chopra, Saurabh Shukla and Rohan Joshi in interesting looks. The series is set in the backdrop of a town called Shilaspura, which is apparently haunted by a demon, called ‘Raakan’ in colloquial terms. Saurabh Shukla plays a tantrik or exorcist of sorts, as his get-up suggests.
‘Dahan’ was first announced by Disney Plus Hotstar last year, as part of the showreel that showcased all the upcoming content at Disney Plus Hotstar for 2021 – 2022. The series was titled ‘Fear 1.0’ then. Disney Plus Hotstar had shared a few glimpses of Tisca Chopra and Saurabh Shukla’s characters from the series in that showreel.
The series is written by Nisarg Mehta (Shoorveer) and directed by Vikranth Pawar (Disney’s Beauty And The Beast). ‘Dahan’ is produced by Banijay Asia, the Indian arm of the Banijay group. The trailer for ‘Dahan’ will be out tomorrow. Disney Plus Hotstar hasn’t revealed a release date for the series yet.
Disney Plus Hotstar announced their upcoming show ‘Dahan’ on their social media handles. The announcement was accompanied with a cryptic caption that read,
