Disney+ Hotstar has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming original series ‘Bad Cop’ and it looks like one hell of a crime action comedy. Helmed by Aditya Dutt (‘Crakk’), ‘Bad Cop’ is the first fiction series for Fremantle India known for making shows like ‘India’s Got Talent’ and ‘Indian Idol’ and will premiere only on Disney+ Hotstar on 21st June, 2024.
‘Bad Cop’ trailer gives a glimpse of the characters and the twisted plot. There’s Kazbe (Anurag Kashyap) the deadly and witty gangster locked up in jail, then there’s Karan the timid cop who has a twin brother Arjun who’s a criminal sought for a murder case. There’s also Khan, a CIB officer and Devika, Karan’s wife and superior officer in the police force.
As far as the plot is concerned, not much has been revealed but one thing is clear that all of these characters are linked via the case of a journalist’s murder and in all of this prime suspect is Arjun who is on run. The twists keep coming so do the quirks, actions and crime.
Directed by Aditya Dutt (‘Crakk’), ‘Bad Cop’ is an adaptation of RTL’s German show “Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut” (2017) and is written by Rensil D’Silva (‘Bambai Meri Jaan’) who has restructured the setting and characters according to Indian scenario. The cast also includes Harleen Sethi (‘Kohrra’, ‘Broken But Beautiful’), Saurabh Sachdeva (‘Animal’) and Aishwarya Sushmita (‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’).
‘Bad Cop’ looks intriguing and the cast choice makes it even more interesting. Both Kashyap and Devaiah are known for their skills in direction and acting respectively. Kashyap who has made films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, ‘Sacred Games’ and more has been seen acting in films like ‘AK vs AK’. Devaiah has proved his mettle in his works like ‘Hunterrr’, ‘Shaitan’, ‘Hate Story’, ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, ‘Dahaad’, ‘Duranga’ and more.
