Disney Plus has just announced a new Asian slate for 2023, consisting of over twenty new titles from South Korea and Japan. The announcement comes amidst Disney Plus’ cost-saving measures and its plan to curtail creation of new content for Disney Plus.
As per the statement released by Disney Plus, Korean and Japanese content has resonated with audiences across the world. The strong storylines in genres such as thrillers, crime-action and fantasy, have mostly done well for Disney Plus, especially in Asian countries, which explains Disney’s enthusiasm to commission more Asian content for the streaming arm of The Walt Disney Co.
