Disney Plus Day: The Full List Of Announcements!

12th November is now officially deemed Disney Plus Day. It is the date when Disney Plus, the streaming arm of The Walt Disney Company, came into existence two years ago. This year, Disney went all out to celebrate the day, with tons of announcements for new titles, returning shows, first looks at titles announced last year, teasers and trailers of upcoming content, release dates for several titles, and so much more.

With the huge number of announcements, it’s easy miss a few here and there. That is the reason why we’ve collated all the announcements in one comprehensive list for your convenience.

Here is the full list of announcements on Disney Plus Day across all Disney properties – Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, and Star/Hulu

Disney –

1. Disenchanted: Sequel to Disney’s hit film Enchanted. Starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey. Coming to Disney Plus in Fall 2022.

2. Cheaper by the Dozen: Reboot of the hit comedy show. Created by Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff. Arrives on Disney Plus in March 2022.

3. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Animated film adaptation of the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise. Premieres on Disney Plus on December 3, 2021.

4. Rodrick Rules: Animated film and spinoff of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

5. Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers: Hybrid Live action – CG animated film adaptation of the popular cartoon. Starring John Mulaney and Andy Samberg. Arrives on Disney Plus in spring 2022.

6. The Beatles: Get Back: Documentary series by Peter Jackson, chronicling the final days of The Beatles as a foursome. Arrives on Disney Plus on November 25, 2021.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild: Ice Age is back! Simon Pegg stars as Buck in the new edition of the beloved franchise. Premieres on January 28, 2022.

Hocus Pocus 2: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy return for the sequel to the hit film, Hocus Pocus. Arrives on Disney Plus in Fall 2022.

Pinocchio: Live-action retelling of the classic. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans, with voice cast of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key, and Lorraine Bracco. Arrives on Disney Plus in Fall 2022.

Better Nate Than Ever: Based on the book by Tim Federle, Better Nate Than Ever premieres in spring 2022.

Sneakerella: A gender-flipped version of the classic Cinderella. Set in the sneaker subculture of New York City. Premieres on Disney Plus on February 18, 2022.

Baymax: A new series on Baymax, the lovable robot from Big Hero Six. Arrives on Disney Plus in summer 2022.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder: The Proud Family from the hit Disney series from the 2000s is back, this time, louder and prouder! Arrives on Disney Plus in February 2022.

The Spiderwick Chronicles: Live-action series on the best-selling book series. In development, no tentative date yet.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: Season Three: Set in a sleepaway camp for the summer

Zootopia Plus: A series of shorts, based on the popular Zootopia franchise. Premieres in 2022.

Tiana: Musical series on the popular Disney Princess. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2023.

Intertwined (Entrelazados): The first Disney Plus original series from Latin America. Streaming now.

Lucasfilm

Willow – an Original Series from Lucasfilm, starring Warwick Davis and directed by Jon M Chu. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: First look at the series announced last year. Ewan McGregor returns as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett: New series that recounts the origins and legacy of Star Wars’ legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Streaming on Disney Plus and Disney Plus Hotstar.

Marvel –

Hawkeye: New look at Hawkeye. Clint Barton/Hawkeye must team up with 22-year-old aspiring archer Kate Bishop, to stop the bad men in their tracks. Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld star. Arrives on Disney Plus on November 24, 2021

Moon Knight: The first look at Moon Knight, announced last year. Oscar Issac plays the millionaire vigilante with dissociative identity disorder. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

She-Hulk: First look at She-Hulk, announced last year. Bruce Banner’s lawyer cousin Jennifer Walters gets The Hulk-esque superpowers after she receives blood from her superhero cousin. Tatiana Maslany stars as She-Hulk, and Mark Ruffalo returns as The Hulk. Premieres on Disney Plus in 2022.

Ms. Marvel: First look at Ms Marvel, announced last year. 16-year-old Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel, plays the MCU’s first Muslim superhero. Arrives on Disney Plus in summer 2022.

Echo: Announced last year, Alaqua Cox stars as Maya Lopez/Echo. The character will be introduced in the Hawkeye series.

Ironheart: Announced last year. Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates a super-advanced suit of armor like Iron Man.

Agatha: House of Harkness: The spinoff series from WandaVision. Kathryn Hahn reprises her character of Agatha Harkness the witch, from WandaVision.

Secret Invasion: First look at Samuel L. Jackson in Secret Invasion. He reprises his character of Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn returns as the Skrull Talos.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: A holiday special of the popular franchise. From Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn.

X-Men ‘97: A series based on the 1990s animated series timeline

What If…? Season Two: The new season of this year’s well-received animated series that reimagines events in the MCU timeline.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year: Animated series, prequel to the current MCU Spider-Man. It follows Peter Parker’s becoming Spider-Man in his freshman years.

I Am Groot: Announced last year, the animated series of shorts will explore Baby Groot’s early years

Marvel Zombies: Animated series that pits a new generation of Marvel superheroes against a zombie scourge.

Pixar –

1. Cars on the Road: New series on the Cars franchise. Mater and Lightning McQueen undertake an adventurous cross-country road trip. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

2. Two documentaries on the making of Turning Red and Lightyear. Arrive on Disney Plus in 2022.

3. Win or Lose: Animated series on a Middle School Softball championship. Each episode is told from the perspective of a different character. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2023.

National Geographic –

Welcome to Earth: Hosted by Will Smith. The 6-part series explores Earth’s greatest wonders. Arrives on Disney Plus on December 8, 2021.

Limitless with Chris Hemsworth: 6-part series where Chris Hemsworth performs unbelievable stunts in his quest to discover the full potential of the human body. Arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

America The Beautiful: A documentary series on the most incredible places in the USA. 6-part series that arrives on Disney Plus in 2022.

Star/Hulu/Disney Plus Hotstar

Prey: Prequel film of the Predator franchise. It tells the story of Naru, who must fight to protect her tribe from an alien predator. Arrives on Star/Hulu in summer 2022.

Rosaline: A comedy film, and take-off on Shakespeare’s classic Romeo & Juliet, told from the perspective of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, who is also Romeo’s ex-girlfriend. Arrives on Star/Hulu in 2022.

The Princess: Joey King stars in this film of a princess who picks up the sword to save her kingdom from ruthless mercenaries. Premieres in summer 2022.

No Exit: A suspense and survival thriller, centred on a young woman caught in a blizzard, who finds herself in a highway rest area with a group of strangers. Arrives in 2022.
