Disney Plus has added yet another exciting Korean drama to its fast-increasing Korean slate. The streaming giant has acquired a new Korean drama for exclusive streaming on its platform worldwide. Titled ‘Nine Puzzles’, the new Korean series is a suspense murder mystery and investigative drama. ‘Nine Puzzles’ will tentatively release on Disney Plus worldwide sometime in 2025.
The upcoming Korean series ‘Nine Puzzles’ stars exciting actress Kim Da-mi in the lead role of Yoon Yi-na. Film lovers will know her from her lead role in the 2018 Korean film ‘The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion’. She also had a cameo in its sequel ‘The Witch: Part 2. The Other One’.
Besides Kim Da-mi, ‘Nine Puzzles’ stars popular Korean actor Son Suk-ku as co-lead, Kim Han-saem. The actor gained fame after appearing in series such as Matrimonial Chaos, Designated Survivor: 60 Days, D.P., My Liberation Notes, A Killer Paradox (2024), along with films such as Nothing Serious and The Roundup.
The story of Nine Puzzles follows Yi Na, who, ten years ago, was the sole witness to the murder of her beloved uncle. At that time, Yi Na was the prime suspect in the murder as per the investigating police detective Kim Han-saem. Cut to ten years later, she is now working as a criminal profiler in the criminal analysis team at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. When another similar murder takes place, she must team up with Detective Han-saem, also her accuser, to unearth the truth about the murder
Nine Puzzles is directed by Yoon Jong-bin, and written by Lee Eun-mi. Besides Kim Da-mi and Son Suk-ku, the series stars actors Hyun Bong-sik, Kim Do-geon, Lee Joo-young, Hwang Jung-min, Lee Sung-min, Lee Hee-joon, Kim Ye-won, among others, in various roles.
