You might already be aware that an upcoming Disney+ series ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’, a small screen adaptation of the popular children’s fantasy book series, is under development at the streaming service. The show features Lyon Daniels, Noah Cottrell, and Christian Slater in the main roles.
As per the latest casting update for the upcoming show, two more actresses namely Momona Tamada and Alyvia Alyn Lind have also been roped in to star in prominent recurring roles for ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ Disney+ series.
‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ series revolves around the Grace family which includes twin brothers Simon (played by Noah Cottrell) and Jared (played by Lyon Daniels), who relocate along with their mother and older sister Mallory to their ancestral property – the Spiderwick Estate. There, the Grace family learns about the secret and parallel world. The web series is based on Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black’s book series of the same name, which came out in the year 2008.
Before the Disney+ series adaptation of ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ book series, a feature film bearing the same name was also made. The film had garnered critical acclaim besides grossing over $160 million at the box office.
In ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ series, Momona Tamada will essay the role of a teenager named Emiko, who is portrayed as a habitual liar. Previously, Momona Tamada has starred in ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ TV series and also made an appearance in Prime Video’s superhero show ‘The Boys’.
Alyvia Alyn Lind will play a character called Calliope, who is disguised as a regular girl but in actuality, she intends to help the evil ogre Mulgarath (played by Christian Slater).
The Disney Plus series ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ is expected to drop on the streaming service sometime in the year 2023. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the Disney+ show.
