Disney has announced to raise the prices of many of its current streaming plans as of October 17. The company’s last hike in streaming plans came during last year’s fall season. This decision results from the conglomerate’s ongoing efforts to boost its profits across all departments, including the streaming business. This news comes after the streaming platform declared the first three quarters of 2024 as its first-ever profitable quarter since its launch in November 2019.
As a result, the prices of both primary Disney+ tiers (with ads and ad-free) will rise from $7.99 and $13.99 a month to $9.99 and $15.99 a month, respectively. Also, there will be a substantial rise in the price of the Duo Basic (Disney+ and Hulu) from $9.99 to $10.99. Although, there is no change in prices for Premium users (still at $19.99).
ESPN+ with ads also reaches $11.99 from its previous price of $10.99. Whereas Hulu with ads increases by $2, reaching $9.99, and its ad-free tier reaches $18.99 from $17.99.
Disney’s ultimate trifecta for the world of streaming, the bundle of Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu, increases up to $26.99 a month in total from $16.99.
Disney hasn’t announced any price changes for Disney+ Hotstar in India yet. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear something.
Furthermore, Disney+ Premium subscribers will be able to enjoy 4 additional curated playlists later this fall, which will be refreshed every month, encompassing Epic Stories from globally prominent franchises such as Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, and more, Seasonal Content, Real Life – an intriguing collection of traditional true stories, biopics, and documentaries, and Throwbacks – the ultimate destination for nostalgic and heartwarming content inspired by pop culture. Stay tuned for more updates.
