According to a rumour from Geek Vibes Nation, Oppenheimer’s Florence Pugh may appear in Disney’s live-action ‘Tangled’ remake.
The original 2010 animated film, Tangled, earned over $590 million against its mammoth budget of $260 million during its theatrical run, making it the most expensive animated film ever. Critics praised the film’s animation quality, Alan Menken’s musical score, voice performances (particularly from Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi), characterisations, and story.
As per the tweet of prominent scooper Daniel Richtman (from Geek Vibes Nation), Disney plans to move forward with a live-action Tangled remake. The studio is eyeing Florence Pugh for the role of Rapunzel. This claim has yet to be verified by the studio. However, it has started gaining significant attention on social media.

Disney has earned billions by delivering live-action remakes of several animated classics to the fans, like The Lion King (2019), a Jon Favreau directional that made over $1.6 billion at the global box office. In addition, the studio has announced a live-action version of Moana. So, it would not be surprising to see Tangled receiving the live-action treatment from the studio.
Most of the recent Disney projects, including the live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid’, have failed to perform well in terms of box office collections. This scenario has significantly affected the conglomerate’s profit margins, forcing it to shift its attention towards the utilisation of AI to save costs associated with the production of movies.
However, the live-action ‘Tangled’ remake with Pugh in the lead can do wonders at the box office. The incredibly talented actress has cemented herself as a widely recognised and highly influential personality in Hollywood. Given her acting talent and global prominence, the live-action Tangled remake could shatter many records. This situation resembles Emma Watson’s Beauty and the Beast (2017), which collected over $1.2 billion during its theatrical run. The film was not perfect, but it treasured several good elements, including Watson’s take on Belle. Apart from her acting talent, her popularity (thanks to the Harry Potter series) played a crucial role in making the live-action remake a gigantic financial success.
