Many of us have faced obstacles so significant we never thought we could overcome them. Many of us have also lost our loved ones and feel at odds with this world because it cannot replace that empty feeling that resides within us. Disney’s Black Beauty is such a story of a bond between a horse and a young girl who has lost her family.
We cannot deny the fact that domesticated animals have this charm about them. They speak to us without words, and there aren’t any ulterior motives when you look in their eyes, just a sense of love and affection for their owners. I think this is what seems to be missing in a lot of people and cultures with time.
This story perfectly depicts the tale of two outcasts, a black horse who was forcefully taken away from her family and a young girl whose parents were taken away by fate. They create a bond around this mutual feeling of wanting someone who understands what they have been through rather than just sympathizing with them.
Things start to take an ugly turn when the horse (Black beauty) is taken away, and the young girl goes on a quest to find and be reunited with her darling horse. They are family, and she cannot stand the thought of losing another one of her loved ones again.
Disney’s Black beauty is a story of love, a story of finding someone that understands you and loves you but most importantly, it is a journey of self-discovery and finding your rightful place on this planet.
