Disney’s latest animated movie ‘Strange World’ failed to set the cash registers ringing at ticket windows at theatres across the world. The animated science-fiction action adventure that centres on the Clades, a legendary family of explorers, received average to poor reviews from audiences and critics. ‘Strange World’ tells the tale of the globe-trotting Clades, a family of legendary explorers, who must undertake an expedition to a mysterious land inhabited by surreal lifeforms to save a resource called the Pando from losing its energy power source. The voice cast of ‘Strange World’ boasts talents such as film Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu.
Interestingly, ‘Strange World’ is the first Walt Disney Animation Studios film that features an outright LGBTQ character in the lead cast. The film is directed by Don Hall, written and co-directed by Qui Nguyen, and produced by Roy Conli.
