In the 21st century when Monarchy should exist entirely in books and stories, Britain still has a pretty extravagant royal family still living a “larger than life” life because they were lucky enough to be “born” into the royal family. Well, the American company Netflix does not bother much about it and they will certainly make money out of the royal family’s insane popularity no matter what.
But, Prince William is reportedly “upset” because Netflix is time and again using the name of her mother who still remains a mysterious figure in the royal family.
However, the impending release of the final season of “The Crown” on Netflix has ignited contrasting reactions from the two royal brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry. The popular series, known for its dramatic portrayal of the British royal family, is set to explore the relationship between Princess Diana and the rest of the monarchy. While both brothers have significant connections to the subject matter, their responses to the show’s depiction are notably distinct.
Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge and elder son of Princess Diana has expressed his unease with the series. According to a royal expert cited by the Daily Star, he is upset by the repeated portrayal of his mother’s life in what he perceives as a “tawdry fashion” by Netflix. The series is expected to depict the spirit of Princess Diana speaking to Queen Elizabeth and her ex-husband, Prince Charles.
The royal commentator Kinsey Schofield revealed, “He won’t watch it, but he will be totally sickened by it.” She added that Prince William would disagree with the idea that losing his mother was beneficial in any way, emphasizing that he would have preferred to have his mum. This strong reaction from Prince William highlights his protective stance regarding his mother’s memory and legacy.
In contrast, King Charles and Queen Camilla have chosen a more accepting perspective toward “The Crown.” According to friends close to the royal couple, they have come to view the series as a form of art. This stance, as reported, stems from their understanding that “The Crown” is a work of fiction and not a literal representation of historical events.
Regardless, The Crown Season 6 will be released by Netflix in two parts: the first four episodes on 16th November, and the remaining six on 14th December.
