It is directed by Kim Hong-seon with a screenplay from Yoo Kap-jeol. The movie is based on a webtoon titled ‘Aridong Last Cowboy’.
The movie tells the story of an aging landowner who decides to help a local detective in solving a murder that happened thirty years back. The landlord is grumpy and rude but when there are multiple deaths in the town and the detective says that everything is connected to the thirty year old case, he decides to share his insights on it.
The performances are convincing and the one hour fifty minutes movie goes on with a tight storyline and wonderfully balanced suspense. ‘The Chase’ is now streaming on Netflix, and if you are fond of Korean thrillers, you should not miss out on this.
