The “Judas and The Black Messiah” breakout star Dominique Fishback who also stars in Apple TV+ limited series “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” alongside Samuel L. Jackson and new Transformers film has been cast as the lead in Amazon Prime Video’s show created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers.
The untitled limited series, previously referred to as “Hive”, is from the house of “Atlanta” creator and “Watchmen” writer. This pretty much has hiked the expectations quite enough. The film apparently follows a Beyoncé-like figure and has garnered right eye-balls for the fact that ex-US-President Barack Obama’s daughter Malia Obama has joined the series in writing capacity. Fishback also joins the series as a producer besides starring.
Fishback is currently occupied with adapting her one woman show “Subverted” into a special besides working herself up between shows and films she’s already signed up for. She produces the special alongside Jamie Foxx. The BAFTA nominee for her heart-touching portrayal in “Judas and The Black Messiah” has also previously starred in Project Power, The Deuce and The Hate You Give. It would be so much fun to watch Fishback in an author-backed role like this for the actor that she is.
