So the two, of production company Excel Entertainment, have now started work on their next offering in the digital domain – a three-season web series that will be a tell-all tale on the various dons that made Mumbai their home and den. Each season of the series will have 10 episodes. The first season of 10 episodes is based on the story of dreaded don, Dawood Ibrahim.
All three seasons of the web series will be adapted from acclaimed writer S Hussain Zaidi’s novel of the same name. Incidentally, the Bollywood flick Shootout at Wadala also took inspiration from the same book, from a single chapter, in fact.
Season 1 of the web series, however, will be more in-depth, chronicling Dawood Ibrahim’s life in vivid detail. Of course, having ten episodes at one’s disposal gives one the freedom to tell a tale at leisure.
At present, the duo is busy finalizing the cast of Season 1 of the series. According to reports in the media, actor Avinash Tiwary has been booked to play the part of Dawood Ibrahim, while Kay Kay Menon is their choice to play the character of Dawood’s father Ibrahim Kaskar.
