The blind man with insane skill to protect what’s his own is coming back. This time may be in a protagonist mode.Yes, you guessed it right. Don’t Breathe 2, the sequel to the surprise hit of 2016, Don’t Breathe is coming this year and the first look revealed by USA Today, promises another gripping tale of terror.
The first installment of the horror thriller Don’t Breathe revolved around three teenagers portrayed by Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, and Daniel Zovatto who breaks into the blind man, Norman Nordstorm’s house in the hopes to steal a large amount of cash. But they didn’t know that Norman, portrayed by Stephen Lang despite being blind, knew how to keep his stuff safe. The trio enters the house only to face the wrath of the blind man and to discover untold secrets. The film was directed by Fede Álvarez who will be co-writing and co-producing the second installment.
Now, for the second installment, it’s confirmed from the first look that Stephen Lang will be returning to reprise his role of Norman Nordstrom. He is seen sitting in the rain holding a hammer in the first look. Little do we know about the plot of Don’t Breathe 2 that Norman may turn into a protagonist this time as the little girl whom he raised in his house for years, gets kidnapped by criminals, forcing Norman to leave his safe haven to save her.
Don’t Breathe 2 will be directed by Rodo Sayagues who co-wrote the first film. Apart from Fede Álvarez, Sam Raini will also return to produce the film in association with Stage 6 Films and Ghost House Pictures. We are still awaiting for the news of the rest of the cast apart from Stephen Lang.
The first installment of Don’t Breathe was extremely successful, made on a minimal budget of $10 million and went on to gross over $157 million worldwide. Now as the first look of Don’t Breathe 2 is extremely intriguing, it will leave the fans restless as it’s still almost 4 months till the film goes live as the release date is scheduled for August 13, 2021, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
