Comedy, according to many, is the most difficult genre to master. With forced laughs and cringe dialogues in many recent movies, we have suffered a lack of actually good Comedy movies in Bollywood. But there are some movies that attract us with their original and unique style as well as creative writing. ‘Chalo Dilli’ is one of them.
‘Chalo Dilli’ had its theatrical release on the 29th of April in 2011. It was directed by Shashant Singh and the screenplay was written by a froup of writers: Krishika Lulla, Arshad Sayed, Anand Raaj Anand, Shabbir Ahmed, Nisha and Manthan. The movie is funny to its cores and does not lose its comedic integrity even for once. No laugh is forced and the performances are beyond amazing. It is available on JioCinema.
Chalo Dilli stars Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak in the lead roles and has Akshay Kumar in a cameo. Actors like Yana Gupta, Brijendra Kala, Dadhey Padhey are in other important roles.
The film tells the story of Mihika, a rich investment banker misses her flight to Delhi. She meets a talkative man named Manu who gets along with her and tires her off. They have to stay together for some time and find a place as Manu has promised that he can make her reach Delhi by time. Mihika is utterly tired of the talks and exploits of Manu but still somehow manages to stay and finds a huge secret in the end. The interactions between Mihika and Manu are so hilarious that you will burst into tears while laughing. The comedic timing of Vinay Pathak is one of a kind and Lara Dutta is awesome too.
