‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’, the Disney Plus reboot of the beloved eighties show ‘Doogie Howser M.D.’, is all set to return with a new Season 2. Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. Season 2 premieres on Disney Plus worldwide, and on Hotstar in India, on 31st March, 2023.
For those who don’t know, ‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.‘ is a reboot of the popular 80s’ show that had Neil Patrick Harris playing a genius kid who becomes a licensed doctor in his early teens. The Disney Plus show switches genders, with Peyton Elizabeth Lee playing genius teenaged doctor, Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha. Lahela is a 16-year-old prodigy, juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager.
The coming-of-age dramedy depicts how, with the support of her caring and comical ‘family and friends, Lahela is determined to make the most of her teenage years and forge her own path. The show is set in the backdrop of modern-day Hawaii. Besides Peyton Elizabeth Lee in the lead role, ‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’ stars Kathleen Rose Perkins, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Jason Scott Lee, and Ronny Chieng in pivotal roles.
‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’ is created and executive produced by Kourtney Kang, of How I Met Your Mother and Fresh Off the Boat fame. It is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios. The new season of the show begins streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from 31st March, and will follow the one episode per week format of streaming.
