With ‘Kurup‘ proving to be a super hit film around the globe, other major Malayalam films are making their way to theatres as well. Among them is the Dulquer Salmaan starrer, ‘Salute‘. While there has been no official release date announced yet, the Mollywood cop film is expected to release in theatres worldwide in 2022. Which will be just in time to take advantage of the upcoming three-day weekend in the United Arab Emirates.
In case, you guys haven’t heard, the country of United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) is planning to shift to a 3-day-weekend which will include Friday, Saturday and Sunday. U.A.E is one of the few country’s around the world where a major amount of its Indian expatriates are from Kerala. Which means, the country has a big market for Malayalam films. With Dulquer having featured the trailer of his film, ‘Kurup’, on the tallest building in the world, The Burj Khalifa (making it the first movie to do such a feat), which is in Dubai, U.A.E.; there is going to be a huge appeal for ‘Salute’ among the “Emirati Malayalis” as well.
Much about ‘Salute’ is still under wraps so far. We do know some of the cast for this thriller, however – joining DQ will be Manoj K. Jayan, Diana Penty, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Saijumar, Vijayakumar, Ganapathi S Poduval, Binu Pappu, Alencier Ley Lopez, Boban Alummoodan and Irshad. The writing duo, Bobby and Sanjay, have penned the script for the film with Rosshan Andrews directing. Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer films will be producing the movie.
