On a heartbreaking note, the Gotham Police spin-off has been put on hold. The new normal says that TV shows and movies merge together for a single large story. This formula has been enormously successful in Marvel and DC is trying the same.
Just four days ago, Matt Reeves‘ Robert Pattinson starrer The Batman hit the theatres. It is earning immense appreciation for itself. The effect of the shore is so high that now people are looking directly towards Matt Reeves for taking forward the legacy of Detective Comics.
In an interview, Matt Reeves stated,
“One thing that we were going to do, that I was going to do…so there’s the Gotham Police show, that one has actually been put on hold, we’re not really doing that. The series was going to be kind of like Prince of the City where it was going to be Year One. It wasn’t going to be a Batman story. It was going to be about this corrupt cop and it was going to be about how the worst gang in Gotham were the GCPD. He was going to have crossed paths with Gordon, who would have been someone to measure him against, but it would be a battle for his soul.”
Thus it is officially confirmed that the Gotham Police spin-off is on hold and we might never see it. Unfortunately, the Indian audience is waiting to watch Peacemaker as well.
