‘Drishtikone’ had its theatrical release on the 27th of April in 2018 and had quite a successful run in the box office. It is a thriller and stars Prasenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta in the lead roles. It also had actors like Churni Ganguly, Koushik Sen or Dolon Roy. Koushik Ganguly made a cameo appearance as he does with almost all his films.
‘Dristhikone’, translated as ‘Perspective’ tells the story of a woman named Srimoti who doubts the simplicity of her husband’s death. She hires a lawyer named Jion to investigate the case. Jion gets attracted to the widow and continues the investigation for the murder. Drishtikone is not a regular thriller with a murder story. It goes deeper into the psychology of human minds and deals with the conflicts of consciousness. Srimoti’s dilemma and Jion’s desperation is wonderfully portrayed in the film. You can watch the film even only for the performances.
The performances in the film are just beautiful and the music adds up to it. The young maestro Anupam Roy has composed the music for the film. The cinematography is handled by Gopi Bhagat.
