Only a few days until Amazon Prime Video’s Drishyam 2 will be available for the audience to watch. The Mohanlal starrer as we all know is the sequel to the 2013 Drishyam and it is going to be an OTT release. Firstly, when the news of skipping theatres was announced, there was a natural backlash regarding the OTT release as fans along with the exhibitors wanted the movie to grace the silver screens.
Today Mohanlal hosted an #AskMohanlal session on his Twitter account, and naturally in no time people bombarded him with questions. The ask session was organised as a promotional strategy for the upcoming Drishyam 2 on Prime Video. Fans came up with several questions regarding the future projects of Lalettan, until one fan asked that is there a possibility of Drishyam 2 arriving in theatres, post OTT release.
Seeing the controversial environment around the “Theatres vs OTT” debate, many thought that the question will remain unanswered by Mohanlal, but the actor came up with a response that made everyone delighted. Mohanlal answered with a one word reply as he said “Possibly”.
This gives a much needed boost to the fans of cinema and Mohanlal as the actors himself is hopeful for the fact that the fan favourite Drishyam 2 might get a potential theatrical release.

It will be interesting to see if people will flock to the theatres if the movie gets a release in the future. Because many of them would’ve seen the movie on Amazon Prime Video itself. But that’s the talk of another day. Drishyam 2 arrives on Amazon Prime Video on 19th February 2021.
