Trailer for ‘Drishyam 2’, the much awaited sequel to hit investigative thriller drama ‘Drishyam’ is here and the Salgaonkars are yet again subject to interrogations with a new officer in command. Helmed by Abhishek Pathak, ‘Drishyam 2’ is the Hindi remake of Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam film of the same name, similar to the first part and will release in cinemas on 18th November, 2022.
‘Drishyam 2’ is set seven years after the murder case related to Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) and his family was closed. Everything was running smoothly for the family of four until the case reopens.
With Akshaye Khanna as the new investigating officer and Tabu guiding him through her experience and understanding of the Salgaonkar family, the case is once again gaining momentum. This reignites the fear within the family that still holds on to their original story despite a series of events bringing to light a truth that threatens to change it all for the Salgaonkar family.
Having learnt from its mistakes, the police is hell bent on finding the truth that has put Vijay in a tough situation. Moreover, the trailer ends with a confession tape of him that makes it more intriguing. Is Vijay Salgaonkar really confessing to protect his family or is it another one of his smart ingenious trick.
The big question that remains though is how will the audience receive the film when the original Malayalam version along with subtitles of ‘Drishyam 2’ is already available on Amazon Prime Video. Thrillers like these run on their mystery factor that is now known to many. So if the Hindi remake has nothing new to add why would one watch the same film with a different set of cast members.
‘Drishyam 2’ stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Khanna, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapur, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav among others. The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak who has also adapted the screenplay along with Aamil Keeyan Khan.
Devi Sri Prasad has composed the original score and music for ‘Drishyam 2’. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are the producers for the film. Co-producers include Sanjeev Joshi, Aditya Chowksey and Shiv Chanana.
Presented by Viacom18 Studios, ‘Drishyam 2’ is a T-Series and Panorama Studios production and will release in theatres worldwide on 18th November, 2022.
