Dulquer Salmaan has been a part of many crime films recently. ‘Kurup’ is an obvious one, however, the upcoming ‘Salute’ and his 2020 released ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ are also examples of his recent turn to crime features. Not that it is a bad thing – he has been doing really well in these films so far. Now, Dulquer Salmaan is going to be a part of a huge scale web series, ‘Guns and Gulaab’ – and as the name suggests, it is going to be a crime series. This dark comedy-crime series will be Dulquer Salmaan’s Netflix debut as well as his first-ever web series.
A good chunk of 2020 and 2021 has been poor for Dulquer Salmaan. The actor couldn’t release any of his films during this time (due to the coronavirus pandemic) and his first-ever direct-to-OTT appearance in ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’, the film which he also produced, flopped badly on Amazon Prime Video. However, after the brilliant reception of the recently released ‘Kurup’, things have been looking up for the actor, with two more films ‘Salute’ and ‘Hey! Sinamika’ expected to drop in a couple of months.
With him now making an appearance in this upcoming crime series with Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav, things are looking up for Dulquer Salmaan. This web series is expected to be an outlandish crime thriller series that is set in the 90s. According to the latest reports, this Netflix original Indian series will follow a group of misfits who grew up in the world of crime and corruption. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK will be directing this violent web series.
