Tamil romantic comedy “Hey Sinamika” to stream on Netflix India from April 1,2022 and Jio Cinema from March 31,2022. Written by Madhan Karky and directed by Brinda in her directorial debut, “Hey Sinamika” stars Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. The title of the film was taken from a song that featured in Mani Ratnam’s “O Kadhal Kanmani”.
“Hey Sinamika” follows Yaazhan (played by Dulquer Salmaan) and Mouna (played by Aditi Rao Hydari) falling head over heels in love with each other and their marriage. However, two years into the marital life Mouna becomes done with the life she has with Yazhan and decides to end their marriage to have a life of her own. This is when Dr. Malarvizhi (played by Kajal Aggarwal) enters Yaazhan’s life. She strikes a good rapport with him and the two hit it off. The bond Yaazhan and Malarvizhi shares angers Mouna, who now wants her husband back.
Bankrolled by Jio Studios and Global One Studios, the film began its production in March 2021 and released worldwide on 3rd March, 2022. The film was dubbed in Telugu & Malayalam and was released on the same date with the Tamil version. Govind Vasantha composed music and Preetha Jayaraman headed the cinematography department.
The film opened to positive reviews, but it couldn’t perform well at the movies. The Telugu dubbed version of this film also underperformed at the box office with most of the shows getting cancelled. However, the light hearted film might attain an audience now that it’s going to be stream on Netflix India.
