This Dulquer Salman starring cop thriller – ‘Salute’ will get a worldwide theatrical release, in the second week of September. This movie is Dulquer Salman’s and Rosshan Andrrews’ first film collaboration – and after brilliant films like ‘Mumbai Police’, ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’, ‘Notebook’ and ‘Udayananu Tharam’, we expect another brilliant Rosshan Andrrews-superstar partnered film. ‘Salute’ is produced by Dulquer himself through his production company, Wayfarer films and with no OTT movement for his upcoming film ‘Kurup’ as well, along with these reports, it becomes clear that there will be no plans for the movie to release on an OTT platform – regardless of an official announcement. It looks like the actor-producer is willing to wait out the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
But, with how things are currently progressing in Kerala (the Covid-19 situation that is), that release date might be considered a slight leap in faith from the film’s production company side. This is because, even if the theatres are up and running by that point, we don’t know if second shows will be allowed in theatres or not (which will bring in a lot of money for films). With the set release date, that might be cutting it too close, but we admire the show of confidence made by the production house. Hopefully, things will have settled down by the time September rolls around and we will be in a much better situation by then.
