Those who want to know more about the planet Arrakis, and their Sisterhood “Bene Gesserits”, then “Dune Prophecy” is the one for them.
But that’s also true that the world of Dune itself or the whole sci-fi genre is an acquired taste.
After Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune Part 1 and 2”, Legendary thought of doing a spin off prequel of “Dune” and that landed on “Dune Prophecy”.
According to the critics it is an appropriate description of slow burn, now if we go back to “Dune” then we will see that part 1 was exactly that, a slow burn, establishing the world.
“Dune Prophecy” did exactly that once more, a 6 episode long series which had a slow burn leaving the audience to ask for more.
Now the critics are saying that Emily Watson and Olivia Williams, in “Dune: Prophecy” lacks the spice of Denis Villeneuve’s films, well that is because Denis’s well calculated set up, Denis introduced the character in such a manner which will automatically draw interest to the audience.
If we keep a keen eye then Zendaya was introduced in Part 1 but her character and potential were revealed in part 2.
Just like that, “Dune Prophecy” as well will unfold step by step, for now it is 72% fresh in Rotten Tomatoes.
So let’s see whether it turns out to be a gullible project or not.
