As promised, we are here with the data on views of Netflix titles. Dunki made a surprise entry on Netflix India on the 15th of February. The movie starring Shahrukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles.
The movie was hugely successful on the big screens and earned a hell lot of money. Obviously, it doesn’t compare to what Jawan and Pathan earned but it is nice nonetheless.
Let’s come to the OTT numbers. The movie was the most-watched non-English film on Netflix last week. See for yourself…
But Dunki is in 6th position, even below Bhakshak. How come it emerged as the most watched film as we said?
Well, Netflix has a strategy in which they divide the hours of views with the total duration of the film. Since Dunki is a long film at 2:40 Hours, the views per se dropped.
But when you see the total watch hours then it is the most watched film on Netflix last week. So there can be two ways to organize the list and Dunki comes out as a monster in one of those ways.
Bhakshak performed much better this week and it is quite reflective in the numbers.
