Rajkumar Hirani is a filmmaker known for his great craft. He is known for never directing a flop film but he has many many blockbusters in his hat.
So it must be a great thing that the revered filmmaker is coming back … and that too with a superstar like Shahrukh Khan whose last two films have been record-making or let’s say record-breaking blockbusters.
Yesterday, Red Chillies Entertainment dropped the trailer of Dunki and what’s the response?
Well, not that great to say. It has been an okayish response so far with people who can’t digest the way SRK has been deaged in the trailer.
It looks too fake and it is almost like an SRK who has been made into looking young with Faceapp.
The editing has been done in a hap-hazard and it looks as if the trailer reveals everything. Although this allegation is consistent in Hirani films it is still a bad thing nonetheless. The Punjabi accent by the cast has received backlash for being too stereotypical.
Dunki’s trailer response is nowhere near a film like Jawan, because the two are entirely different kinds of films. Also, Dunki’s target audience is not the same as Jawan.
But Dunki certainly one thing from Jawan. It is the buzz, the excitement and crowd at the big screens. Dunki’s response is perhaps the weakest response to all the Hirani films in the past decade or so.
Let’s see how the film actually does.
The Dunki trailer was somewhat disappointing. The editing seemed subpar, and Shah Rukh Khan's Punjabi accent appeared forced; I'm unsure if it's scripted. For a story-driven film with an adrenaline rush, it lacked the necessary excitement to engage the audience.#DunkiTrailer pic.twitter.com/IrilyA1j3Y
