Arindam Bhattacharya’s crime thriller ‘Shibpur’ is all set to release on the 30th of June. The movie stars Swastika Mukherjee and Parambrata Chattopadhyay in leading roles. Meanwhile, the director has announced another film with Swastika Mukherjee in the lead.
Swastika Mukherjee is definitely one of the most popular actresses of Bengal and without any doubt, the most bold one. She has had awesome performances in some of the best Bengali thrillers and having her in one more thriller will be amazing.
The film is titled ‘Durgapur Junction’ and it will be a crime thriller. It tells the story of a journalist who loses her husband due to a medical scandal and wants to investigate the case. A police inspector helps her in the case and she successfully exposes the scam. The film is based on a true event that happened in the USA and Arindam has set it in the city of Durgapur. Swastika plays the journalist and the role of the inspector will be played by Vikram Chatterjee.
Durgapur is known for many hospitals and nursing homes and it will be nice to adapt the story in such a city. Vikram Chatterjee’s ‘Sohorer Ushnotomo Dine’ too will have its release on the 30th of June alongside ‘Shibpur’. The actor is having back to back big releases and with Durgapur Junction, he has a possibility of having another superhit.
Durgapur Junction will also have actors like Ekavali Khanna, Rajdeep Sarkar, and Pradip Dhar in the movie and the shooting will be done in Durgapur, Bolpur and Kolkata. The film will most probably release this winter.
