Netflix had announced its acquisition of Dutch suspense and murder mystery thriller film ‘Faithfully Yours’ as part of its glittering ‘TUDUM’ event last year. And now we have a confirmed date for the Netflix release of ‘Faithfully Yours’. The suspense thriller film arrives on Netflix on 17th May, 2023.
‘Faithfully Yours’ is a Dutch film that released in theatres in Netherlands in December 2022. Netflix acquired the streaming rights for the film, given its thrilling premise and suspense/murder mystery genre. Now, ‘Faithfully Yours’ is all set to release on Netflix, five months after its theatrical release.
The film centres on best friends Bodil and Isabel, who cheat on their respective spouses, using each other as alibis. Trouble brews when one of the friends is murdered, landing the other in a soup. Elise Schaap plays Isabel Luijten, while Bracha van Doesburgh plays Bodil Backer in ‘Yours Faithfully’. Nasradin Dchar, Gijs Naber, Matteo Simoni, Hannah Hoekstra, Sofie Decleir, among others, form the rest of the cast.
Yours Faithfully is written and directed by André van Duren. Elisabeth Lodeizen and Paul Jan Nelissen are co-writers on the film.
The official synopsis of ‘Yours Faithfully’ reads –
“Best friends Bodil and Isabel, apparently happily married, sneak off for secret affairs using each other as an alibi. But when Isabel is killed when they were supposed to have been together, Bodil gets caught up in her own web of lies”.
