Dwayne Johnson Joins Netflix Once Again For A New Fantasy Project

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is THE man in Hollywood at the moment. With ginormous projects under his name, The Rock is once again coming to Netflix with yet another of his productions. After announcing his upcoming movie “Red Notice” starring Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Johnson himself, Dwayne Johnson’s production company Seven Bucks Production is bringing to life a fantasy graphic illustration book named “Teddy and The Guardians of the Night”.

Netflix has apparently picked the project that will be produced by Johnson’s production house and Beau Flynn’s company FlynnPicture Co. The book is a fantasy novel with illustrations mainly, that is written and drawn by Greek artist Alex Panagopolous. The story depicts a stuffed teddy bear that is on a mission to protect a child from the monsters of the night.

It is yet to be decided whether Netflix will turn this into a movie, series or an animated project. Chances are high that this might turn into an animated project as one of the main reasons Dwayne Johnson’s company president Hiram Garcia picked it up was because of its vivid illustrations and style of fantasy art introduced by the artist in the illustration novel. Also on the other hand, Netflix is also investing a lot of its time and resources to bring brand animation projects that can entertain the adult section of the viewers too.

The project at the moment is at a very early stage. The latest screenplay is being written by Josh Stolberg and Bobby Florsheim after a draft was submitted by Archenemy writer Luke Passmore.

While all this happens, it’s nice to see people’s favourite The Rock joining hands once again with Netflix, after his upcoming project “Red Notice” just has wrapped up. While this movie is eyeing for a release later this year on the streaming service, “Teddy and The Guardians of the Night” has no release date as of yet.
