Fantastical and dystopian sci-fi thrillers reigned over the international box office with releases like the Hinger Games franchise, the Divergent franchise, the Maze Runner franchise, and many more.
Much to the joy of fans of the genre worldwide, it was recently announced that a Maze Runner reboot is officially in the works! Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by American author James Dashner, the plot revolves around a young man Thomas who loses his memory and finds himself trapped in a massive maze called the Glade.
The movies follow him and his friends as they try to escape from the maze and eventually learn that they are subjects of an experiment. While many viewers thought the franchise had ended with ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in 2018, many were looking forward to news along these lines.
20th Century Studios will be rebooting the action-adventure franchise that ran as a trilogy between 2014 and 2018. Jack Paglen, best known for writing the Johnny Depp-starring sci-fi movie ‘Transcendence’, is being tapped to pen the script for the new installment.
While no other information like plot and character details and the release date has been revealed yet, do remember to stay tuned to this space for as and when they roll out!
