‘Balaji Telefilms’, headed by Ekta Kapoor, has revealed A huge slate of upcoming projects. The company is one of the biggest Entertainment companies in India and it is now in a very Strong Financial position.
The Malayalam and Telugu film ‘Vrushabha’, directed by Nanda Kishore and starring Mohanlal, is one of the main films of the slate. Kareena Kapoor’s ‘The Buckingham Murders’, directed by Hansal Mehta is another one. The actress will also be seen in ‘The Crew’ alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon. It will be directed by Rajesh Krishnan. Karan Boolani’s ‘Thank You for Coming’ will star Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. Apart from these movies, there will also be sequels for two movies. One for Dibakar Banerjee’s critically acclaimed ‘LSD: Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ and another is Ayushman Khurrana’s ‘Dream Girl’.
The details of Television and OTT content have not been revealed yet. But there will be a historical drama for a TV channel, a love story for Sony and three other shows. There will be a murder mystery show and a pre-medieval era show for a global streamer.
Ekta Kapoor has said, “We have a chalked out plan for three years on how to build the OTT platform separately, our content strategy on digital separately, our films, which we have about four more IPS we’re creating which are extremely new and interesting, and on television, of course, it is a regular, entertaining masala that we churn out year after year, we don’t play too much because it is the medium where people want comfort viewing – they like it to be regular.” Focusing on the different mediums is indeed a good decision and it will help in the business of the company.
