Founder and owner of one of India’s leading production banner Balaji Telefilms, Ekta R. Kapoor is all set to receive the prestigious 2023 International Emmy Directorate Award. She will be presented with the award at the 51st International Emmy Awards Gala, on 20th November, 2023 in New York City.
Ekta R. Kapoor has made a name in the entertainment industry like none other by creating and producing more than 17,000 hours of television and 45 films. Her Balaji Telefilms, founded by her and her parents Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor is the single largest television content producer in South Asia.
Ekta R. Kapoor is one of Fortune India’s 50 most powerful women in Asia and the only woman from the Indian television market listed in Variety500 – an index of the 500 most influential business leaders shaping the global media industry.
Having unveiled a strong slate of upcoming films and web projects recently, Ekta’s Balaji Telefilms promises to continue entertaining viewers. These projects include Nanda Kishore’s Malayalam and Telugu-language magnum opus “Vrushabha,” starring Mohanlal, and also in the works are Hansal Mehta’s “The Buckingham Murders,” starring Kareena Kapoor, Rajesh Krishnan’s “The Crew,” starring Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon and Karan Boolani’s “Thank You for Coming,” starring Bhumi Pednekar.
Sequels to Dibakar Banerjee’s groundbreaking “LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha” is also in the making. Recently released Raaj Shaandilyaa’s “Dream Girl,” starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey is also doing great at the box office.
