An Elon Musk biopic is in the works at A24, according to one of the latest reports from Puck. The Whale helmer, Darren Aronofsky, will helm the project. He is also known to direct Requiem for a Dream (2000), The Wrestler (2008), Black Swan (2010), Noah (2017), and Mother (2017).
The biopic will take inspiration from Walter Isaacson’s biography of the controversial tech tycoon and one of the richest people on Earth. The biography came out in September this year.
As per the content published in Isaacson’s book, we should expect plenty of drama from the Elon Musk biopic. The project could focus on his personal life, his journey of becoming the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, and most importantly, his role in the Russia-Ukraine war. In 2022, the tech mogul disapproved of the utilisation of Starlink (a satellite internet service) in Ukraine as he wanted his company to stay away from being a part of offensive warfare. In return, Ukraine’s government did not like his decision as it prevented them from successfully carrying out military operations in the country. The region’s government wanted to use Starlink as a replacement for communication networks that were destroyed during the war.
As of October 2023, Elon Musk’s net worth stands at $207 billion.
Variety has also confirmed this news. The publication also revealed that A24 had to face severe competition from other studios to win the bidding war.
A24’s Elon Musk biopic has not received a release date yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
