Emily Blunt is undoubtedly one of Hollywood’s most versatile actresses in today’s time. With movies like A Quiet Place, Devil Wears Prada, Mary Poppins Returns under her name, the actress is one of the most sought after actresses. It is not only movies, but she has proved her excellence in series too and now she is all set for yet another one.
Titled “The English”, the series comes from BBC and Amazon Studios jointly. While Emily leads, the series has already got itself a massive ensemble cast and all of them are some of the best in the business. The cast includes Chaske Spencer, Rafe Spall, Tom Hughes (A Discovery of Witches), Stephen Rea (The Honourable Woman), Valerie Pachner (The Kingsman), Toby Jones (Marvellous), Ciaran Hinds (The Woman in Black), Malcolm Storry (The Princess Bride), Steve Wall (The Witcher), Nichola McAuliffe (Tomorrow Never Dies), Sule Rimi (Black Earth Rising) and Cristian Solimeno (Avenue 5).
The series is termed as an epic western drama from the 1890s that follows the story of a woman named Cornelia Locke, played by Emily Blunt. Set amidst a mythical mid-American landscape, Locke, an Englishwoman, arrives in the West to seek revenge from the man, responsible for the death of her son. In her quest she comes across the character of Chaske Spencer, who is an ex cavalry scout and member of Pawnee Nation. As both of them join forces, they unravel a massive secret that needs to be defeated and protected at any cost for them and the people around them to survive.
The series has already apparently begun its shoot in Spain and will consist of 6 episodes. The series comes from Hugo Blick and will be produced by Drama Republic. The movie being of the Western genre it will see a completely different look and it being already set in the late 1800s, the makers are promising an epic drama, thanks to the incredible cast and marvelous story.
The series will be aired by BBC in the UK and for the rest, Amazon Prime Video will be streaming the series. The makers have promised the series will be dropping soon somewhere around next year.
