Millie Bobby Brown shines again! The highly anticipated Netflix follow-up, Enola Holmes 2, is less than a week away from hitting the streaming service. However, the sequel’s early reactions have surfaced on social media, thanks to those lucky critics who watched the film before its worldwide premiere.
Early reviews have called Enola Holmes 2 a satisfying sequel to its 2020 predecessor. The chemistry between the on-screen brother-sister duo of Brown’s Enola and Henry Cavill’s Sherlock has received special praise. Several critics have declared their connection the best thing about the film.
Based on the young adult fiction novel series by Nancy Springer, the Enola Holmes film series expands Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional universe of Sherlock Holmes. Netflix picked up the franchise after the first film failed to get a theatrical release due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Producer and star Millie Bobby Brown openly expressed her desire to see herself in an Enola Holmes sequel after the huge success of the first entry back in September 2020. Seven months later, Netflix officially greenlighted the sequel.
Enola Holmes 2 currently has a rating of 89% (based on 9 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes. Check out some of the early reviews below!
#EnolaHolmes2 is a nail-biting mystery and a delightful thrill ride until the very end. Just as charming as the first, the sequel gives more room for Millie Bobby Brown & Henry Cavill to explore their differences and similarties as sluething Holmes. @netflix brings the fun again! pic.twitter.com/OGdS20S7S5

#EnolaHolmes2 is just as much fun as the first film. #HenryCavill and #MillieBobbyBrown have more scenes together and they've got great chemistry. Bring on the next mystery for them to solve. pic.twitter.com/lTvnORKji7

I loved #EnolaHolmes2! It's such a fun movie (the first one was a delight as well if you haven't watched). The real story that inspired it is powerful, and I teared up at the end! pic.twitter.com/SGJDEDlmyE

I’ll have a full spoiler-free review of #EnolaHolmes2 coming soon, but: if you enjoyed the first one, you won’t feel let down. Found this one more character driven (which I liked) & it’s narrative timely. Brown is winning as always; Cavill needs to do more comedy. pic.twitter.com/RHbRYDgDZe
