Netflix is going to release the British erotic thriller Obsession soon this year. The show will be directed by the filmmakers Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa who are well-known for works like ‘Ordinary Love’ and ‘Good Vibrations’. Obsession will premiere on Netflix globally on the 13th of April this year.
The project was announced in March 2022 in a Netflix event and was previously titled ‘Damage’ but now the name has been changed to ‘Obsession’. Gina Carter will be producing the series.
This series will be the adaptation of the 1991 novel of the same name by Josephine Hart. The book was quite famous at the time of its release and had already been adapted into a movie that starred actors like Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche.
It will be a limited series and there will probably be three or four episodes and each will be almost an hour long. For the roles of William and Anna Barton, Richard Armitage and Charlie Murphy have been finalized. Richard Armitage is known for roles like ‘The Hobbit’, ‘The Stranger’ and ‘Stay Close’. Indira Verma, Rish Shah, Pippa-bennett Warner, Celine Arden are other actors to join the project.
Netflix is a great hub for movies and shows with great sensual appeal. The erotic novel adaptation will bring many audiences to the platform given that it is executed well enough. From the names associated with the project, it looks like ‘Obsession’ will be a big hit. Fans are waiting eagerly and there is excitement for the show.
