We all know that Euphoria Season 3 has been delayed due to many factors like the Hollywood strikes, the busy schedules of its cast members, and the tragic death of Angus Cloud. No one knows when it will come out. This scenario has been discussed with almost all of the show’s main cast members. Now, Hunter Schafer has joined the list as well. Best known for playing Jules, Schafer talked about Season 3’s potential time jump and its effect on Jules in a recent interview with Variety.
Hunter believes that the proposed five-year time jump in Euphoria Season 3 may give Jules a chance to live like a normal teenage girl. “The past two seasons have been pretty rough on Jules,” Schafer told Variety. “So I just hope she’s gotten to chill out and be a regular teenage girl.”
Schafer talked to Variety as part of the promotional tour for her upcoming psychological horror, Cuckoo, which received a fantastic response at this year’s Berlin Film Festival. The film is scheduled to come out on August 9, 2024. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a ‘fresh’ rating of 76% based on 25 reviews.
Now let’s turn our attention back to Euphoria Season 3! Schafer’s recent comments tease new careers, relationships, and personal struggles for all characters, including Jules. This paves the way for plenty of new and fresh storylines for Season 3. We could witness Jules and other key characters such as Rue, Lexi, Nate, Maddy, and more grappling with new dilemmas and trying to navigate their lives beyond the dimensions of high school. A five-year time jump will enable the series to focus on the characters’ lives as young adults instead of being stupid high schoolers.
In addition, many of the cast members do not look like high schoolers now as they have aged out of their respective characters. A time jump would bridge the gap between their characters’ ages and their real ones.
However, the concept of time jump also has its own set of cons, which could adversely impact Euphoria Season 3. A five-year time jump may not allow the viewers to experience the characters’ high school experiences again. Moreover, some storylines may remain unresolved due to jumping ahead in time, which could frustrate those viewers who were heavily invested in those storylines.
